Scavenger Hunt Set for SoBo Day

SoBohemians will once again have a chance to test their knowledge of the peninsula – and win prizes – in this weekend’s “SoBo Day Scavenger Hunt.” The hunt opens at 8am on Saturday, May 6, and closes at 11am on Sunday, May 7.

This year’s hunt sends you off on missions to find and photograph a variety of unusual and/or historic objects on the SoBo peninsula – from the Sharp-Leadenhall and Otterbein neighborhoods on the west to Locust Point and Fort McHenry on the east.

Rules

  • The “SoBo Day Scavenger Hunt” missions will be posted here as a two-page, downloadable PDF file at 8am on May 6. You solve the missions by finding and photographing objects on your cellphone.
  • Individuals, teams, and families can compete. If competing as a team, all photos must be taken on one cellphone.
  • Each correct photo earns you 5 points. The maximum score is 90 points. You do not need to photograph every object listed in order to compete. (Some will be harder to find than others.)
  • Once you’ve completed your hunt, come to the information tables at the “I Love SoBo Day” community celebration to report your results. SoBo Day takes place at the outdoor pavilion at the Baltimore Museum of Industry (1415 Key Hwy); the information tables are at the front of the pavilion.
  • Results must be reported before 11am on Sunday, May 7.

Prizes

  • The top scoring individual/team will receive a $50 gift card to a SoBo eatery of their choice. The 2nd and 3rd place scores will receive a $15 gift card to a SoBo ice cream shop.
  • In the case of a tie score, prizes will be awarded based on a drawing of the qualifying individuals/teams.
  • Prizes will be announced at 1:45pm at the SoBo Day awards ceremony in the BMI pavilion. You do not need to be present to win.
