We hope to see you at this annual community celebration of all things South Baltimore! “I Love SoBo Day” is a celebration of this great part of the city and an opportunity to bring together the many neighborhoods of the South Baltimore peninsula for a day of fun with family, friends, and neighbors.
“I Love SoBo Day” is hosted by South Baltimore United, Inc., the nonprofit publisher of the South Baltimore Peninsula Post.
Free and open to the public.
Date – Sunday, May 7, 2023 (rain or shine)
Time – 9 am to 2 pm
Place – Baltimore Museum of Industry pavilion, 1415 Key Highway
SPECIAL EVENTS
We’re bringing back many of the activities from last year and adding a lot more. Check back here for updates and a complete schedule of activities.
- Start your day with an Exercise Class for adults with Reflex Functional Fitness. Sign up online for this body weight work class; space is limited. (8-9am)
- SoBo Photo Show and Contest displaying almost 50 images of Baltimore by SoBo shutterbugs of all ages. Vote for your favorite to win a People’s Choice award (9am-1:30pm). Award ceremony with Celebrity Judge Crystal Moll at 1:45pm.
- For the 3 and under set (and their parents & caregivers), sit under the Pavilion and enjoy stories and playtime with Mr. Cork of Sprocket Learning. (9:30-10am)
- Get out on the water for one-hour Sailboat Tours with the Downtown Sailing Center, offered to SoBo Day attendees ages 6 and older on a limited, first-come basis (weather permitting). Registration begins at 9am; tours are 10-11am and 11:15am-12:15pm.
- Test your Bmore knowledge and win prizes with a Trivia Contest conducted by tour guide and Baltimore booster Chris Riehl of Rent-A-Tour. Teams of up to 8 can play; space is limited so get there early! (11-11:45am)
- Try out your Hula Hooping skills and watch a performance by the pros from Baltimore Hoop Love (10:30am-12:30pm)
- Dance the afternoon away by the waterfront with DJ B.A.B.S (11:45am-1:45pm)
- Test your knowledge of the peninsula with a 24-hour SoBo Day Scavenger Hunt and you could win a Gift Card to the SoBo eatery of your choice. Open to individuals, teams, and families using one cellphone to snap photos of their finds. The hunt goes live Saturday, May 6, at 8am. Get all the details right here. (Note: Due to technical difficulties, this hunt will no longer require an app. A cellphone is required but only to take photos of your finds.)
- Our Silent Auction features an assortment of SoBo specialties and services – something for everyone! Items include a private sailboat cruise, museum memberships, Sagamore Spirit distillery tours, a box of SoBo Brews, a basket of SoBo coffees, an Orioles-autographed baseball, original artwork, and more. Bidding starts at 9am and closes at 1:30pm.
