Your Guide to SoBo Holiday Lights

Update Dec. 17 – We’ve added a few more blocks to the tour bringing the total to 40. The added blocks are shown by a red pin on Google Maps and an asterik (*) on the revised PDF map.

Streets across the peninsula are already aglow with strands and swirls of colorful lights as residents enthusiastically plug in for the holiday season. Take a walk or a ride around the neighborhood with this “SoBo SoBright 2020” self-guided tour and prepare to be amazed.

We identified 36 blocks across the South Baltimore peninsula with impressive holiday light displays that stretch high above the street or far along multiple houses. With new displays popping up every day, consider this a starter list for your holiday lights tour.

The 36 locations from our Dec. 8 survey of neighborhood light displays are pinned on the Google map below. (Pins are placed in the center of the block and do not indicate the location of a specific display.) Print-ready maps are available here as a two-page PDF:

We hope you enjoy the tour and all the fantastic ingenuity and creativity of your peninsula neighbors. Look for photos of some of our favorite sights on social media (hashtag #sobolights). We’ll be looking for yours!

If you’d like to tell us about an awesome light display we overlooked, write us at bmorepeninsulapost@gmail.com. – Steve Cole
