SoBo Day 2024 Set for April 27

Our 3rd annual celebration of all things South Baltimore!

Join your friends and neighbors from across the South Baltimore peninsula at “I Love SoBo Day,” hosted by South Baltimore United, Inc., the nonprofit publisher of the South Baltimore Peninsula Post. As always, the event is free and open to the public.

Date: Saturday, April 27 (rain or shine)

Time: 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Place: Baltimore Museum of Industry outdoor pavilion, 1415 Key Highway

“I Love SoBo Day” is a celebration of this great part of the city and an opportunity to bring together the many neighborhoods of the South Baltimore peninsula for a day of fun for all ages.

SPECIAL EVENTS

  • Start your day with a free all-levels Total Body Community Workout for all adults with FIT4MOM Baltimore City. Sign-up online in advance. (8:15-9am)
  • SoBo Photo Show &  Contest displaying images of “City People” by SoBo shutterbugs. Baltimore-based artist Janet Jeffers Little is our celebrity judge who will be selecting the top 3 photos, and SoBo Day attendees will be choosing the winner of the People’s Choice award. (9am-12pm, awards & prizes announced at 12:15pm)
  • This year’s Scavenger Hunt challenges you to find one of 50 hand-painted “I Love SoBo” rocks hidden in plain sight across the peninsula. The 3-4” rocks are outside in and around parks, playgrounds, plazas, and other public spaces. Bring your find to the SoBo Day information tables on April 27 to receive a delicious prize on the spot. Limit one prize per person. And you get to keep your rock! #lovesoborocks (9am-12pm)
  • Interactive Storytime for children featuring songs, play, movement, and stories with children’s librarian Caitlin Tyler of the Enoch Pratt Library’s Light Street Branch. (9:30-10am)
  • Get out on the water for one-hour Sailboat Rides with the Downtown Sailing Center, offered to SoBo Day visitors ages 6 and older on a limited, first-come basis, weather permitting. Rides depart at 10am and 11:15am. Sign up in advance at the DSC table on SoBo Day. (10am-12:15pm)
  • Test your Bmore knowledge and win prizes with a Trivia Contest conducted by tour guide and Baltimore booster Chris Riehl of Rent-A-Tour. (11:15-12pm)
  • Try out your Hula Hooping skills and watch a performance by the pros from Baltimore Hoop Love (9:30-11:30am)
