Date: Sunday, May 4 (rain or shine)
Time: 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Place: Baltimore Museum of Industry outdoor pavilion, 1415 Key Highway
SoBo Day brings together people from across the many neighborhoods of the South Baltimore peninsula for a fun, all-ages celebration of this great part of the city. Here’s what we have planned so far (check back often for updates):
SPECIAL EVENTS
- Start your day with a Total Body Community Workout for adults with FIT4MOM Baltimore City. Signup online in advance (8:15-9am)
- The first-ever SoBo Arts & Crafts Show will showcase all types of creative talents by peninsula residents with awards and a $100 cash prize for the People’s Choice winner. SoBo Day attendees will vote for their favorites (9-11:45am) with winners announced at 12pm.
- Baby & Toddler Music Time hosted by the South Baltimore Music Academy will give the littles a chance to have some fun and make some noise. (9:30-10am)
- Get out on the water for one-hour Sailboat Tours with the Downtown Sailing Center, offered to SoBo Day visitors ages 6 and older on a limited, first-come basis (weather permitting). Rides depart at 10am and 11:15am. Sign up in advance at the DSC table on SoBo Day. (10am-12:15pm)
- Join a peninsula-wide ‘Game of Frogs’ Scavenger Hunt to track down 100 hand-painted Game of Frogs sculptures inspired by Star Wars characters (in honor of May The Fourth). The 2-inch-tall frogs (with distinctive red bases) are hidden in plain sight outside in and around parks, playgrounds, plazas, and other public spaces on the peninsula. The Hunt began on the morning of April 24. Bring your find to the SoBo Day information tables on May 4 to receive a delicious prize on the spot. Limit one prize per person. And you get to keep your frog! (9am-12pm)

- Try out your Hula Hooping skills and watch a performance by the pros from Baltimore Hoop Love. (9:30-11:30am)
- Test your Baltimore and Star Wars knowledge and win prizes with a Trivia Contest conducted by tour guide and Bmore booster Chris Riehl of Rent-A-Tour. (11:15am-12pm)
- This year’s Silent Auction features items from local artists, restaurants, makers, and businesses. (9am-12pm)
